Indiana Honey Princess Lacy Dooley~ Presenting at 9:00
I am a senior at Country Lane Christian School in Rockville, IN.  I am involed in bible study and am a 10-year 4-H member.  In 4-H, I show horses, cattle, and hogs.  I also work with every aspect of my family's farm. In addition, I race 600cc mini-sprint cars and work with my family's carriage business.  In my free time, I enjoy cooking, sewing, reading, gardening, and beekeeping.  I am looking forward to serving as the Indiana HONEY princess because I enjoy educating the public about honey bees and cooking with honey.

American Honey Queen Lisa Schluttenhofer~ Presenting at 9:15  Lisa Schluttenhofer is the 20-year-old daughter of Mike and Roberta Schluttenhofer of Thorntown, Indiana.  She is a sophomore at Purdue University, where she is studying Agriculture Communication.  Lisa is involved in the College of Agriculture Dean's Scholars Program, Purdue Chapter of Heifer International and activities at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  She enjoys beekeeping, hiking, being outdoors, cooking, speaking Spanish and volunteering.

Wayne Price~ Demonstrating at 10:00~

Wayne Price, resides in Greencastle and has been a beekeeper for 40 plus years. 125 was the most he has kept at one time and over those years he has gained a wealth of knowledge.  Wayne loves sharing the love of keeping bees with others and has been a personal mentor to Busy Bee Apiary! He has seen many changes in the bees overtime, unfortunately, not for the better.  If you are interested in bees hes a great one to "corner"
One of the major tasks of a beekeeper is the uncapping and extracting of honey which he will be sharing with us. This will be his second year for being a part of our National Honey Bee Awareness Day as he helped us to kick off the first year's.

Kris Kraut~ Demonstrating at 10:30

Kris is very modest about his abilities as a chef, but he is great and takes special pride in utilizing local, fresh, organic-in general safe and wholesome foods in the dishes he creates.  He is creating recipes for us for the second year, showcasing the use of honey.  Last year's was delicious and I am certain this year's will be the same-your taste buds will love this.  And yes, there will be sampling! If you need to reach him for his fine culinary skills, you can find him at Baeslers, which happens to be a sponsor of this years event. Phone (812) 232-2498.

In order to make his dishes and samples available for this segment, many of our market vendors have generously donated: Appleseed Farm, Blitz Greenhouse, and others.

Mary Beth Eberwein~ Demonstrating at 11:00

Mary Beth Eberwein grew up on a small farm near Blackhawk, was a 10 yr 4-H member, graduated from ISU with Bachelor's and Master degrees in Life Science, and served our community at Dobbs Park as a naturalist for 16 years. Currently she's a free lance naturalist, home school educator (science labs) and adjunct instructor for distance learners (the WED program) at Saint Mary of The Woods. "Needless to say," as she is quoted, "I love the outdoors and am especially thrilled by bird-watching and butterfly-spotting!"  It is a pleasure to have Mary Beth with us this year and we are eager for her presentation.
